Girls!! Check yourself before you wreck yourself!

To get away from the seriousness of my blogs last week, I am going to change the topic completely and have a bit of a rant on something that I have noticed lately...

Tights are NOT made to be worn as pants!

I'll admit, I've done it myself. Worn tights as pants I mean. Mostly around the house, but still. They're insanely comfortable, they're warm, and with the right clothes on top, can look relatively decent. But. The sad truth is, even if they CAN look and feel like a good pants substitute, often they are not made for it. Especially the cheap pairs that you can buy.

For example. In my lifetime, I have done two Pump classes at the gym, you know the ones where all the girls and middle aged ladies go to 'do weights'. In both of those classes, I have arranged myself with my weights at the back of the room, happily pumping away, until... the squats track. Both classes, I have had an lady in front of me, wearing perhaps a slightly worn out pair of tights. So that when she squats, the material stretches and I am able to discern that she is wearing a blue g-string. Ten reps later, that image has been burned to the back of my retinas.

So. I'm all for wearing tights at the gym. But perhaps fork out for a pair of actual gym tights, and not the $8 ones that are meant to be worn under a dress. But then again, maybe that won't even be enough to save you...

Example two. I was on the mats one day doing my stretches, when I look over and one of the trainers at the gym is kneeling down helping someone get all fit and stuff. She has a good pair of gym tights on, and across the back band is a fancy mesh sort of material. Except the material between the mesh has worn away, and you can see, not only the tag inside her tights, but also her black g-string that she is wearing. The next day it was red.

The thing that really baffles me is why are so many girls wearing g-strings to the gym. But anyway. I'm not trying to tell you what to, or what not to wear (although don't get me started on double denim or the new trend in rolled up ankle freezer jeans...). Just please, ladies, - check yourselves!! Because, whether its at the gym, or walking down the street, no one else is going to tell you they can see your underwear through your faded old tights.
